Solar and Wind Hybrid Systems are a good combination for rural unmanned platform power. Wind turbines are less costly than large solar arrays; so fewer solar panels are required to power your load. The combination of solar and wind generates power in all kinds of weather. Wind generated power can be highly variable at several different timescales: from hour to hour, daily, and seasonally. Therefore Wind turbines are used as a backup source of power, making them ideal for night time or when there is reduced or limited sunlight. When the sun is out, there is limited wind, when the clouds are out, there is plenty of wind. Small-Scale Wind Power: is the name given to wind generation systems with the capacity to produce up to 50 kW of electrical power.
